SIGN-INS AND SIGN-OUTS
  • All students who arrive late to school or who must leave early must sign-in or sign-out through the Student Affairs Office.
  • All sign-ins and sign-outs must be verified by a parent/guardian and the reason must be acceptable to the Principal or her designee.
  • Photo identification (i.e. driver’s license) must be shown in order to sign in/out a student.
  • Only those persons listed on the student’s emergency card will be permitted to sign students in/out.

Signing In
Any student arriving to school after 7:45 a.m. must report to the Student Affairs Office to sign-in. Any student failing to report to the tardy booth or sign-in to school will be subject to disciplinary action.

The status and time of the sign-in will appear on the EASI attendance system; in addition, it is the student’s responsibility to show their sign-in admit to each teacher whose class is missed to verify the status of their absence.

Steinbrenner High School will adhere to the county guidelines for excusing late sign-ins (see student handbook for acceptable reasons for excused sign-ins). In order for a sign-in to be excused, a parent or guardian indicated on the emergency release card must be present at the time of the sign-in. For student drivers, a parent or guardian indicated on the emergency card must call in and speak directly with a SAO secretary.

NOTE:  All unexcused sign-ins will be disciplined under the tardy discipline plan.

Signing Out
If it is necessary for a student to sign-out of school before the end of the school day, a parent may make the request in person or call the Student Affairs Office.  This request must be made at least two hours prior to the sign-out so that the request can be verified. Students who receive approval to sign-out will be sent for with a pass and will report to the Student Affairs Office to receive a sign-out admit.

The time of the sign-out will appear on the EASI attendance system; in addition, it is the student’s responsibility to show their sign-out admit to each teacher whose class is missed to verify their status of the absence.

Any student who leaves campus without following the proper sign-out procedure through the Student Affairs Office will be subject to disciplinary action according to the Steinbrenner High School Student Code of Conduct.

Steinbrenner High School is a closed campus.  Therefore, students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch.  Parents should not request to sign students out for lunch unless it coincides with a valid need for sign-out (i.e. doctor’s appointment, etc.).

NOTE:  Due to the inability to efficiently locate students during a Pep Assembly, students are not permitted to sign out after 1:15 on Pep Assembly Days.
